FIVE months old, can you believe it? How fast time flies.
That line seemed so cliche until Gage came along.
Five months ago today:
CHOP
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
No action all night and then...
Thought my water broke- it was an abruption-my placenta tore-scared
Emergency C section
6 pound 14 ounce baby boy with CDH
Heard a little scream and heard the nurses pass him off to the "stabilization room"
Didn't get to hold him or touch him for what seemed like an eternity
I was sewn up- numb- tired- scared
Touched Gage's head, saw his chest so full and so tight
Watched the nurses wheel him out of my room and pictured him going down to the NICU
Was wheeled down to the NICU- saw my precious miracle-God is so good!
Watched and waited...waited and watched!
Today:
Milledgeville, Georgia
Gage is happy, healthy, and showing his sense of humor
He is growing and gaining weight by the day
He is eating, cooing, spitting, and always laughing
His scar is fading and if you didn't know you wouldn't know
He loves to be held, but he loves his independence
He likes to be read to, but pokes out his lip if you try to sing to him
He LOVES his family, his toys, his puppy, and his home
He loves to sleep, but doesn't like to be sleepy
He is a miracle!
There is a plan for him- a huge plan- the Master's Plan
We have always been and will always be "Blessed Beyond Belief"
